Removing a VS seat

Does anyone know how to remove the seat from a VS. Normally a Beetle seat just slides forward off the tracks. I can't seem to do the same with the Vintage seat!?

Have you looked at the floor board from below? There may be bolts through the floor pan that need to removed. If they are rusted, best to spray a rust penetrator like WD40 and leave overnight.
I welded bolts on the seat bottom onto the bottom rail so that the seat slides out completely. No more bolts to remove. It's so much easier. Now when I pull forward the whole seat with track slides off the rail.
