Removing Convertible Top Rods | 356 Speedster, 550 Spyder, Replica, Automotive Community

Does anybody know any tricks to get the nut off of the bolt (which are the pivot/connection points for the convertible top rods) that is glassed in to the interior side?

If anyone has ever tried, the bolt is actually free-spinning within the side, so it's not a simple case of using a wrench and socket.

Let me know if you have any experience with this. Thanks.

I have not had that issue but I would suppose vice grips and a sawzall.

I take my top off every summer, I reach under the fender well where the nut is holding it and stablize it.....(if I understand the question correctly)
