Repair/Tuning Shops in Vermont

Does anyone have a shop in the killington area that is particularly good with air cooled motors? My speedster need some attention...

Hey you are close to me!!! :) You know if you are looking aircooled mechanical, you will find any mechanic over 40 years old has probably cut his teeth on a veeDUB. It's amazing. If your looking to get the car tuned almost anyone will do a great job. Maybe go and do a 5 garage visit and see. If your looking for a speed shop, well, that is different.

But seriously if your looking for regular maintenance you'll be amazed that most know that car more than anything else.

Call Wayne Wilbur in Killington. Tell him you know his cousin Gordon from Massachusetts. (You can also say that Gordon has a little Porsche just like my brother Ray had back in the 60's, only white, not baby blue). Ask him if he can help you find a good Air Cooled VW guy in the Rutland area.

He's lived there all his life, runs the snowplows and sanders all over Killington, and knows pretty much everybody worth knowing. I'm sorry that I don't have a phone number to give you, but his father's name is Richard and they all live off Route 4 at the bottom of the mountain on the Chittenden side, heading South.

There also used to be a terrific VW guy near White River Junction named John Clarke, but he must be in his 70's by now.....
