Love that 68 car and would sore like to make a knock-off of it to put in the garage next to Bridget.

Did real Speedsters ever come with Fuches? Seems that they were a 911 wheel.
To me, the ones Marty is considering are boss.
Ron O:
I'm a fan of minilites as well. I had the dark colored ones on a british racing green Triumph TR250. Great look.
Marty:
Your car, your choice. I'm just a fan of having options at hand. The Fuchs are "going to church" the spares are "going to run you over". I get into both moods myself.
Jack- The never came on 356's from the factory. They were developed for the 911 and first on the '67's (I believe).
Ron. Yes, I didn't know what they were called, but the Minilites. Again, it's all about what the owner likes and nothing at all about what I like or anyone else likes. It would be a pretty boring world if we all liked the same thing.
I'm with Marty those wheels he's having made will look unique.......and like others have said above Fuch's never were on original 356's although a lot of us put them on starting back in the late 60's-70's..........IMO Rudge knockoffs would look great on Marty's IM!
Putting a personal touch and uniqueness on your replica Speedy/Roadster is what adds to the "Madness". This is why Baskin & Robins has 31 flavors!
What Jim sayeth, X2
Marty: It's YOUR car. YOU get to look at it all the time, so make it look the way YOU want. Personally, I think the wheels you're having made are in the wicked awesome range and you're gonna love 'em. You certainly won't see many other cars with them tooling around and the amount of class they'll add to you car is just right.
Well thought out upgrade!!

Marty, sent you an email........no reply. Interested in shipping to South Africa?
Hi Marty
Will you be selling them with the tires? What kind of tires are they...I'm having trouble reading.
Thanks
Sorry for the delay. I was told that my wheels are still 3-4 weeks away which means 6 weeks in the real world of custom work . Ill repost when I know the time is right. Mark, no tires.
This took some time but I hope to have my wheels in less than one week. I'll post pics after install. Here is a sneak preview with Henry's shiner in the reflection.

Ooooooooooooooooooo.... Daddy like!
To me, Minilites look fantastic on a bugeye Sprite, less so on a Porsche (although both cars do share a certain appealing female roundness) .... that said, if I had a set, I would definitely use them. Marty you are really passionate about your choice and that is what's most important. Car jewelry? That metaphor says it all. I can't wait to see the pics!

Yes Simon, Those 928's are really "outlaw" with the extra holes drilled into the inner ring.
I like the look of a Porsche aluminum spare, but like real Fuchs, they're getting expensive.
Does anyone know what a Porsche aluminum spare weighs?
Marty, did you get your wheels through Henry?
Care package came yesterday. Wheels are at the mechanic awaiting new rubber. They looked great and are very lightweight. Intalled pics later next week.

Marty- What does 1 wheel weigh?
Did not weigh, I'll try to do before we add the tires.
How much does it alter your transmission ratio when you're in 4th gear?
Marty, did you get your wheels through Henry?
I'm looking forward to photos of this wheel on your car.
No Jim, the question is "How much does it affect the functioning of your air conditioning at highway speeds?"
Jim, I stay in 3th gear all the way to 100mph so I don't know. Lane, if its really humid at highway speeds Sandy gets an occasional drip on her toes from the AC. Ron, wheels direct from the source. Its a private club so email me for the scoop
Great looking wheels, Marty! Look forward to seeing them on the "cream cruiser". What are you doing with the custom painted Fuchs you took off?
Here's a sneak preview of Marty's wheels. I did a little photoshop work for him back in August. Not the best, but it'll have to do until Marty gets them mounted and photographed.

Replica porsche center caps are $15 and some change:
Era, those are iffy quality at best. I hope they are round. The latest EMPI ones are good quality. Especially the full polished ones. The custom paint on the paddles on my wheels cost more than the wheel itself. Stay away from the flat finished ones that EMPI sells. They look cheap (thanks to Troy for the heads up). I almost went with them. Mine are not for sale anymore unless someone really needs them. I am going to keep them for church like Bob said earlier on this thread
Smart thinkin......
