Replace VS hood handle emblem

Just need advice on removing the VS hood handle emblem and replacing it with this this Porsche one. Don't want to scratch the handle up.

On my CMC (assume yours is identical) - I removed handle from hood (actually wasn't yet installed) then there were 2 flat locking washers on the emblem pins. New emblem should have those rectangular locking nuts with it. You might want to add the OEM gasket between the handle and the hood (got one from Klasse356) if yours doesn't have one (CMC didn't). Just be careful removing/replacing handle - you don't want to strip the studs out. You could also apply some silicon sealer to back of emblem.

Ah, here's picture - appears only 1 screw on nut -- the 2 clips I mentioned must be on the larger 911 hood crest.

It sounds like removing the handle is better than attempting to pry out the exsisitng.

Oh, yes!!!

Actually, the VS one is very easy to pry out as it is in place with some adhesive. I did and installed the Porsche crest with clear silicone.

On my CMC there is a stud on the back of the emblem and a nut on the underside of the handle, thus my exclamation.

Wait til kids hear that that VS is only held on by goop. They can add to their chrove tire valve stem collections. I'd go with nut on the stud as little extra insurance.
