I want to replace my seats in my VW pan 1983 Intermechanica. I think I could pick up some good ones from JCWhitney. I know they're not the real deal but neither is the car. The old ones have a small frame that bolts right on the pan but I guess most of the replicas are similar. Any one have ideas? I want something for around $200 that includes hardware. Thanks

What's in the car now? Are you thinking of changing for form or function? (Do you want something that looks more 'speedster' or do you want something taller/shorter/wider/softer/harder?)

I want black and need to replace the drivers side that has a cracked fiberglass shell. They are likely the ones that came with the IM original build. They have the double slotted back. I can try to find a photo later.
You've got a dialog.

Easy peasy job to repair the fiberglaas shell - $20 worth of materials. Resin, hardener, and fiberglass mesh all from Lowes/HD.
How much of a hurry are you in?
I may have a pair of Porsche 914 seats available sometime during the Winter, as I may be swapping them out for custom seats.
The 914 seat has, basically, the same shape as a 356 Speedster seat but without the vertical slots in the seat back. They also have built-in headrests for safety, although those may be cut off for more 356 authenticity. Lastly, they tend to be slightly more comfortable than the normal, reproduction "Speedster" seats currently available.
