Hello all: I'm wanting to replace squeaky brakes and seat belts in my "new to me" VS. Any suggestions on brands and types?

Brakes often squeak simply from rust buildup on discs/drums - once they get some serious use the squeak goes away. Crow, Simpson and Deist are popular brands of seat belts for Speedsters.
Very nice looking car, Ron! Nice touch with the old yellow plates. You'll be the coolest dude at every traffic light! Have fun with your new ride. 
Love the bee hives! I got color matching chrome flip latch belts from some place around Pomona. Google seat belts. They are about $20 a seat and real nice. Make sure and mount the belt bracket so it will swivel. This way if you get in a wreck it won't pull sideways and cut the belt

The brands I listed are the classic Aero racing style wider belts. They are SCCA racing certified.

Thanks for all the good advice and tips, guys. I will definitely check out all the options. And yes, Q, definitely a ride when the weather clears up a bit. Raining in Sacramento (thankfully).

For race style Deist 2" or 3" in red or custom color- try Sierra MAdre. Expensive but good quality. (97$)? nLA used to advertise the custom Deist on their web site for significantly cheaper... You may want to call them directly to see if they still have them available... They often don't list everything they offer. Also...call their east coast 1800#. My experience has been that the west coast number sells more kits/complete installations, while their east coast will sell independent components. If you call East coast, ask them about their convex Aero mirror... For 25$, a great upgrade. ( west coast only sells complete Left or Right installationbefore 100$)

I have both the black NLA, and a dark gray 3" Deist and love both of them... ( only because in addition to my VS speedster I just picked up a "62 one owner 356 coupe which needsed new belts ( and a complete restoration ;-)).
Reason for suggesting the "custom belts" is that you can specify the " lengths" of the straps... Specifically the fixed side. Off the shelve belts were a little too long for my engineering mindset. I wanted something that fit ;-)

Ron, if your brakes still squeal after driving your car for a while you may have to put some anti-squeal lube on the back of your brake pads. I'd be willing to bet the person who installed your pads didn't use any.
Don't get the 3" belts, very uncomfortable.

-1 about what Jim × 2 said. I have 3" inch Crows and I love them.
I like Crow belts, cheaper than Simpson and just as good. +1 on the 2", 3" is too wide and uncomfortable for the street.
