"Premier Classics de Mexico" (2003-present) bought out "Autos Classicos" (1979-2003).

Several years ago, a guy in Houston bought six 356 Speedster bodies and eventually resold them. They seem to be decently built body/subframe assemblies similar to CMC, but with some changes; such as the door latches are moved down towards the center of the door (like the real 356)rather than near the top of the door like most replicas.

I've got one of these, and Eric Rodela (in Texas)has one.
Story I got was original JPS molds were taken from a "damaged" car and had flaws. This was the original delay from 06 to 07. Then new mold was done from a better donor and the result is the current molds producing the current body.

John says he invested considerable resources in doing this and is one reason JPS does not want to offer the coupe in "kit" form - only turnkey. According to John the coupe has been selling very well and he has quite a backlog of orders in the works.

I just thought it was a strange coincidence that the silver mexico coupe was the same colors as the original silver w burgandy coupe JPS built last year and had on their site for a while (not the silver & blue Carlisle car). I had not seen any replica coupes on The Samba before. Of course that does not mean they were not there. I knew of the Envemo from Brazil, but they have not been made for a long time.

What other makers are building coupe replicas?
