First step is to have the steering wheel on the column and then mount the dash brow to follow the radius of the steering wheel. ( drill the brow holes slightly oversized this let's you move it a bit for best appearance. Next is the gauge placement, the VDO's are 100mm... I cut out three 100mm paper discs and with a compass mark the exact center. Tape the first one at center and 1/4" down from the bottom of the dash brow. Tape the remaining two in place then stand in the back of the speedster and if needed move the L & R templates until you have the best position / eye appeal. I use a good quality 3 - 3/8" hole saw ( zero run out) at slow speed to cut the openings, you'll need to open the holes just a bit with a small drum sander on a cordless drill to accept the 100mm gauges.
Many Thanks for the Info !!!!!
I think Alan meant a 3 7/8" hole-saw, that is slightly less than 100mm.
3 7/8" works out to 98.4mm, just about perfect for 100mm, even with a little runout.
I'd cut a practice hole in a piece of thin plywood and measure for gauge fit.
3 3/8"(about 86mm) is going to require a LOT of Dremel work, and make a LOT of dust!
Yup sorry it's 3-7/8" gauge hole Thanks for catching that Danny ~
