I just placed my order with Kirk at VS, and after reading much of the threads on this site, I am even more anxious to get out on the road - but I wonder how "real" Porsche owners respond to vehicles (and their owners) that look and run better than theirs at a fraction of the cost and aggravation?

This has been thrashed around countless times. In a nutshell it's who cares what they think! Go and have fun! In fact many speedster owners have Porsches....

Whenever I'm driving my Speedster around (like yesterday) and pass a "real" Porsche coming the other way, 9 times out of 10 I get a wave, smile, thumbs-up, or flash of headlights.
For the most part, I think they get it.
