Well CbPerformance is an obvious choice and SCAT makes nice parts with a decent 0 mile turnkey......what have you decided a complete new one or just longblock???
Well Steven I haven't made up my mind yet.I am shopping around.There some local shops in town that I need to talk to.I have just e-mailed cb performance and requested a quote on an engine.I have plenty of time ahead of me until spring.
Also, Bernie Bergman is still building engines (must be going on 30 years, now!) and there are several folks on here who build quality engines as well.
I HIGHLY recommend Kurt Metzger of Vintage Performance. Kurt just won't build you an engine, he'll provide you with a SOLUTION. He pays attention to all the details... needs, performance, COOLING, etc. And, he's the most honest builder I've come across and I've talked to and/or gotten feedback on just about all of them.
He built me an absolutely incredible 2176 that has give me no problems and was exactly what he said it would be as far as performance, cooling, etc.

I got married in October, so that month was pretty busy with wedding stuff and the honeymoon... we went to Rome. Last weekend, Kurt told me about the meet and bringing Karl Macklin's car out there. Sounds like Kurt did another excellent job for him as well... improving a CB Performance engine no less! Karl said he is very happy with it. I am actually headed up to Kurt's today to have an external oil cooler installed.
