I am interested in a 550 replica and through my research I have decided the Beck 550 is probably the best choice. I am leaning toward the kit. Has anyone purchased a Beck in this configuration? If so, how did you have it shipped? How long did it take to get the car after sending the order? What is needed to complete other than engine, tranny, front suspension and brakes?

Thanks,

Gary Stephenson

Gary,

With all due respect to Brian's opinions, there is much heated debate regarding the sources of Spyders on www.spyderclub.com. Every Spyder source has their loyalists and their detractors.

I built a kit, but it was over 12 years ago, so my answers would not help you out. I found the experience both very frustrating and very enjoyable. You might also want to look at Thunder Ranch as a kit supplier.

Post over at the club and you will receive replies from people who actually built their cars.

Mike
High I'm building a Thunder Ranch 550A 6. It is a large project only
for the fateful. Lots of little things nuts, bolts, linkage, fab
work and trip after trip some where for parts. I've seen both Vintage and Beck up close and personal they are both very nice cars but it boils down to what you want. The Thunder Ranch offers some things they don't but I did change my interior out to a Beck Leather interior.

Best wishes
Steve Lane
