Hi Peter---I know you must be excited about getting your new Beck--you should have it around September or so---right? Congrats, you got a wonderful car and the support you will have from Carey will be wonderful from what everyone here says.

I haven't heard of any gatherings in S. FL but hope someone will post about one. I really enjoy my Speedster a lot but tio me a huge part of the fun (or madness, as it's called) is the wonderful folks you will meet on this site and the various gatherings that are held around the country. If you don't attend these events you are missing out on most of the fun!

The next event I know about is the 'Tail Of The Dragon" in the Smoky Mountains in October. We meet near Knoxville, TN which is really not all that far for you to come. Lane Anderson is an enthusastic Beck supporter and drivesfrom near Charleston, SC to The Dragon. He also drives to the Carlisle event and that's not too much farther than your trip to The Dragon. Marty G. drives hios Vintage from Chicago to the Dragon and I do it from Hot Springs, AR. Some of us are planning a drive to the Morrow Bay, CA event next April and thats a 2 1/2 or 3 day drive for me. So you can make it to The Dragon and we'd love to meet you and see your ride.

Good luck with your new car! ---Jack
Dr. Choy asked me to make a post about his car. I will be happy to update the thread with some photos as we progress.
Although his profile shows the car as red/whiskey, we have tentatively changed that to silver/blue.
The car is being built as a one off flared Beck with an EJ25 Suby motor. Rancho is building one of their pro-comp boxes, and it is being custom geared with all new Phoenix gear sets. We have used 4 of these boxes in the last few months and they are working out GREAT!
We have a shop making custom axles and bearing housings, and Airkewld is making custom rotors for us. Brakes are cross-drilled 11" rotors w/ Wilwood 2 piston calipers in the front and Golf in the rear.
Wheels are 19x8.5 and 19x10.5 3 piece 911 Turbo aftermarket wheels that are being slightly modified by Weldcraft to change the offset a bit. By changing the offset of the wheels and widening the suspension itself, we should get away without spacers of any kind here...
The car is being built as a "comfortable" outlaw, with no trim or bumpers, but will feature AC and heat.
Completion date is estimated to be December 9th.

Peter---you would enjoy the gathering no matter what you drive. My son showed up last year in an old Bug convertable. Come to the Dragon run---yopu will be very welcome, you can see a lot of Speedsters and you will enjoy the group dinner, SAS tour and more.

When I started "the madness" I thoughjt it was all about the car but the car is only half the fun. This site, the various events and most of all the people you will be with make the enjoyment much, much more than just the car.

Your car sounds fantastic too.---Jack
