Ribbed rubber floor mats for VS

I'd like to purchase or make a set of authentic-looking black ribbed rubber mats for the floor of my car. Has anyone done this & can you share with me where the mats or ribbed rubber mat material might be purchased? A company that advertises on ebay sells reproduction sets (for $650+) that fit the real cars...will a mat set made for a real 356A fit a Vintage Speedster?

I don't think so Steven. The Vintage uses a VW pan which is not the same as a 356 pan. I think one of JPS's customers had rubber mats fitted into his new coupew and perhaps what was used would work for you. Perhaps a call to John Steele would help. Others?

I bet the ones for a 68ish bug from CIP1 would fit (ok back 10" too long). They are only about $60 but they only come in black (not gray which I thought was original). They also have one for the firewall.

I found several companys that sell rubber hall runner stocks. They have got you covered and you can make your own to any pattern you want . The stuff is pricy.

I would definaly use news paper and masking tape to make my patterns, before cutting up a runner.

Any industial supply or comercial supplier to a school or libary can get you that stuff and in the same ribbed pattern.

but you will need to call and ask for samples, They have many styles and colors.
