I just want to get everyone's opinion. I am new to the speedster world amd have the opportunity to get a decent shape speedster for a great price. The only thing I am a little uncertain about is that it is a RIGHT HAND DRIVE car. I test drove the car and will admit that it will take some getting used to but I think i couls adjust. What does everyone else think??? Any thoughts? Also how hard would it be to convert to left hand drive in the future if I decided to? Any input would help. Thanks.

Justin,
I owned two RHD classic minis. I currently have a LHD, which I will be selling for no other reason than it is not RHD. It takes very little getting used to and always starts a conversation.

I am guessing you are in the US. I have not seen any RHD cars in the US, so it would be very unique. Swapping would be a problem as the fiberglass panel for the guages would have to be moved, which would require some bodywork.

Drive it, if nothing else, you can always sell it and get a LHD model. As long as you are not overpaying for the car, it will depreciate very little.

What manufacturer is it?

I am in thailand and here it is RHD. I have learned to adjust to being on the wrong side of the road and now it is automatic, even on a bike. The problem for me is using a RHD car on LHD roads or vice versa. Perhaps if you had never driven in a RHD country, but I get confused when I go back to Canada now, and every now and again turn into the wrong lane.

I am about to convert a CMC to RHD, and it should be easy as I am using rack and pinion steering so it is just the dash to mirror. Donor Beetle as the RHD wipers etc.
