The used car I bought had the IM "tall person" set up.  Being vertically challenged I had to convert it back to the "short person" set up.  The conversion involves raising the seats, changing the seat belt bracket location and placing a thicker pad in the seat bottom.  I have yet to replace the seat bottom pad.  However, my natural butt padding has continued to atrophy so I think its time to add back the thicker padding.  My question is...how difficult is it to pull up the seat cover to place more padding?  Do I need to remove the seat from the car?

Thanks

My CMC is vinyl stapled to a piece of plywood with foam in between.  Your may have a metal frame that uses hog rings to fasten it?  If seat cushion doesn't pop off - you'll probably have to remove 4 bolts holding it in.  Consider adding Rostra seat heaters while you have cover off.  Tush always like a little heat even though you have all that weather fending off stuff already.

When I bought my first Roadster from IM, the seats (which were Recaros) turned out to be too low for me.  I contacted Henry, and he sent me a set-up which allowed me to raise the seats in all.  No need to take the seat bottom apart.

That might be a simple option.  It was four bolts and retaining nuts etc. that went through the existing seat locating holes in the floor braces.

EDIT:  Sorry, I see you have raised the seats already.  My bad.

What about botox in the butt?

Yup.  Henry sent me spacers to raise seats.  Done that.  Just need more cush for the tush.  Henry actually puts a very thin cushion in the seat to let tall guys sit lower in seat.  Tired of feeling the hardware in the seat.  Looks like I'll have to pull the seat out of car to figure out how to remove seat covers.  My car sits in a heated garage and where I live doesn't get that cold.  But seat heaters might still be nice.

Phil, ship your seats to Gordon, he's had a lot of recent upholstery experience LOL!

Seriously though, it is probably hog rings and patience for you, and please just take them out of the car. So much easier. If I take mine out for crotch belt install, I just might do the carbon seat heaters, love them in my Audi.....every person who installs the seat heaters loves them.
