I've lost two friends in the last few weeks. One I've only known a couple of years and the other for about twenty. Jim Wicker has done the interior of every car I've owned in the last two decades (except the Monte Carlo) plus every car that Steve has ever owned. Not just a guy you take work to, Jim was the kind of guy you stopped by to visit with any chance you got. He worked out of his house and if you timed your drop in just right, his wife would fix you lunch! Kind of funny how often his place got visited around lunch time.

Jim's memorial service was held at a pizza parlor this Monday. They wanted everyone to bring a car that Jim either did the interior on or one that he would have liked. The Monte's been sitting for almost 9 months. I connected the battery and fired her up, Steve took the cabby. We got there about 15 minutes early, not sure how many people would show up.

Well holy cow. Life has been good when you've got more friends that a large pizza parlor has parking places. We filled the front, the side, the back and then started just parking cars out in the middle of the aisles. Well over 200 people showed. Good friends, good stories and I hope very endearing to his family.

Life is short my speedster friends. Roast your tires but always remember to toast your friends and not the other way around.

I hear that, all of it Angela! Last time I talked to you, I was on my way to a service for another pancreatic cancer victim I knew.

Tonight I took my soon with me in the Spyder to our first car show together. He says he wants to go to more, he had fun. He's eight. I had fun too. His favorite car: an orange 69 Camaro SS. It was sweet, too, not overdone.
I thought something was "off" when I talked to you last weekend, Danny. Meant to touch bases with you on facebook and query. By the way, thanks for the info on the end-play on the T4. Wasn't until I got a good flashlight out that I could see the washer/spacers you were talking about. Sorry about your friend, Danny.
