Just a short note about the Rocky Mountain Handcrafted Auto Show held today in Denver. This is the second year of this show and it was quite well attended. Cars were all replicas ranging from Lamborginis to Cobras, Mercedes 500Ks, dune buggies and Speedsters. First place went to Jim and Carolyn Young (publishers of Kit Car Magazine) for their 1957 Thunderbird replica ... which was VERY nice! Best Engine went to Yours Truly and the Lovely Miss Sharon for my Speedster's replica 356 engine!!!

Just one more reason to come to the National Speedster event this September 18 - 20. Got lots of interest in our gathering while at this show.

Happy Trails,
Dusty and LMS

Dusty,
You and the LMS didn't happen to be driving around in a light rain about a week ago with an umbrella out instead of the top up were you?
A friend of mine was in Denver last week and said she saw an "original" silver speedster with a couple as described. You and the LMS were the first people I thought of.

Cory,
Got your call. The Mrs. is out of town and I'm playing Mr. Mom until Monday so I have my hands full until the little ones go to bed. I'll call you when I have a little time to chat.
Mickey,
Wow! You heard about that all the way back in Deleware? Yes, it was probably us .. in Estes Park. We often use our umbrella instead of the top for the 5 minute rain that happens up there every day. We hold it up between us and each of us uses a one-hand hold on the edge to hold it just behind the windscreen. It works when we are driving around town at slower speeds. Not only is it quick but seeing other drivers' expressions is priceless.

Happy (rain) Trails,
Dusty and LMS
Dusty,
I showed my friend this thread and she just thought that was the coolest thing ever! As soon as she saw your picture she said, "That's him! That's the guy I saw driving the speedster!"
Anyway, I just thought I'd let you know that you and the LMS made a lasting impression. It's kinda cool that these little cars make stories that travel.
