This is the roll bar that Fred McKenney bought from Rocky last week. He's decided that his '70s-era Intermeccanica needs something else, and doesn't want to monkey this bar up to make it fit.

He has the brackets as well as the roll bar. The brackets mount to the vertical risers behind the doors in a CMC, a FiberFab or a Street Beasts Speedster. This bar will not work in an Intermeccanica, as we've proven this week.

Bummer for Fred, boon for someone else. Rocky kept good care of this thing, and there isn't anything preventing someone from bolting it right into their car for that race-ready look. It's cosmetic only, and sits in the back seat area without any mods to the fibergalss other than drilling 10 holes to accomodate it.

The brackets look like they want to be welded to the B-posts, but you might be able to bolt them in. I wouldn't.

Anyway, he is asking an even $100 plus shipping. DelMarVa guys, this is an excellent deal. The brackets are the ones that came with this very bar; the holes correspond perfectly.

I'm happy to pass interested parties on to Fred. Let me know here or via PM.

Update on this, not just to give it a bump.

Fred says I can have the bar. I don't want it, since I'm already pretty comfortable in the roll bar department. If anybody wants it, I'll be taking it to my house sooner or later, and will happily deliver it to Carlisle for an SOCer rather than put it on the Samba.

I'd love to be able to give Fred the hundred bucks he paid for it, and I certainly don't need a penny from it in my own pocket. If that's doable for somebody, I'll hang onto it until May.
