I got up early this morning to go to Cars and Coffee in Irvine, went by Donut Deralics in HB first. Alot of american iron there (quite a few american plastic too!) Got on the 405 south and was cruzing down to Irvine about 6 am ,got to Laguna Canyon Rd and hear a slight whine and then a BANG! The alternator light came on so I pulled off the frwy. I thought I had lost a belt but when I opened up the lid I saw that the iner alternator pulley half was missing! It must have shrapneled because the inside of the lid had a ding in it. I couldn't find any pieces anywhere. I carry a spare belt, clutch and throttle cable, have the basic tools for emergencys. I would have never thought to carry a spare pulley. It was 6:30 am at this point and was stumped as to who to call. Coyotes were out and howling in the field next to me, sun was just coming up. I called Jim Ignacio, because he lives right around there... He's on the east coast. Thought about AAA but decided to try Rolland from Vintage. He said he would help me out and had a spare pulley. He drove all the way from his shop and put on the new pulley and didn't want anything!!Talk about sevice! Top that! Rollo if you read this ...THANK YOU!!! Good to hear things are picking up.
