Sorry, this is a really silly one but it would help me out bucket loads...

I have in older style (pan based) IM with a replacement soft-top.

I've never had any window flaps for it but now want to order some.

My big concern is that the soft-top only has a single lip around the window flap opening. Is this normal?

Most I have seen have a double lip, the inner one being longer than the outer and you hook the window between the two.

Am I missing something?

Is this normal?

Thanks

Yup, double flaps are the norm, but don't despair...you could take the top to an auto or boat top place and they could easily sew flaps in for you.

Placement could be done a couple of ways, but I would get the side windows in, and then draw a line along the underside of the top where the side window seal meets the top material (contrasting-colored grease pencil will do). Draw the line along the inside edge of the side window, and that line will tell the guy (or gal) where the window meets the top and where the flap has to go.

Better yet, take the whole darn car, side windows and all, to the top place and tell'em you want that inside flap sewn in. They'll know what to do....
