Thanks guys; I just knew if I waited long enough,I would hear the proes and cons on fuel pumps. I just could't make up my feeble mind on which one to get. You guys are the best when it comes for getting parts your not quite sure will last or work. Being some what deaf I don't I would notice any clicking, but I just couldn't make up my mind as to which type. Thanks abain fellas.
I have a rotary pump right now and it works great for the dual Weber 1914, but don't overlook the Holley pumps either. The red or blue are very strong and will let you "grow" in your engine choices. With a regulator you can use the blue pump on everything from a stock VW engine to a two+ liter turbo, to a SBC. For the turbo, we just drilled/tapped the upper bell shaped top piece for a barb and connected it down stream for a boost sensitive regulator.

Just a thought, since you're buying new.

Luck,

TC
Ralph,

Guess you weren't around last year when the engine in my Speedy decided to go south, litterly, because of an over zealous mechanic in Medford. He rerouted the external oil filter lines until they rested on the header, Viola, Engine went "Bang" on the Grapevine, downhill portion yet. I arrived at the Marriott in Rick Davis's Speedy with a case of Molson on my lap! So when a couple of really neat people, Angela and Steve offered me a trailer ride, the memories came flooding back. In a heartbeat I said, "YES". Actually since Angela will be booting the Spyder down to Knotts, at some point we might want to switch trailer queens and I may arrive in the Red Peril. We'll see, in any case we'll have an option. I did make it within about 50 miles of Knotts last year, so that and my advanced age should count for something, LOL.
Bruce.
The trouble with email is it is not possible to see the tonque in cheek. It was of course your disaster that I was referring to and if yoiu do not think I am a little nervous driving a fresh engine to Knotts, well that makes one of us. If I coiuld caravan with a group with the way HD riders did when Amfac put out the product---with a van and trailer behind to pick up the parts and bikes I would jump on it. I don't think my ride has gone 200 miles without some problem but then it is old and does have some miles on it.
Ralph
Ps. Remeber I was chasing you thru that gorgeous southern Oregon wine country. I would say that to say we were driving briskly would be an understatement if you asked those who rode shotgun. (Is it not funny how the ride in the passenger seat is so much quicker than when one is in control)
