Royal purple oil?

Any pros or cons on this motor oil? Was going to go Brad Penn but hard to find on the california central coast. Your suggestions always helpful!

Royal Purple was (I believe) second on Jake Raby's list of top performers, but it is pricey. I used it for a while because I couldn't find Brad Penn locally, but I've found it to be considerably cheaper to order Brad Penn from someplace like Summit Racing.

RUSS, i just got a case in last week i think it was from guy. the box says JR motorsports on it. anyways it was around $77 case delivered which is $6.41 a quart deliverd. not a bad mprice , i went to a oreilleys here and nothing special oil was 5.25 qt.

I no longer use Royal Purple. It was a great oil before you could buy it at any Pep boys... When it was race oil it wasn't API regulated. Now its just like anything else bought locally.Oil thats easy to get is pretty much compromised as the general rule.

It gave me 160,000 miles of service in this engine but that was the prior formulation.
