Now that I have performed bumperettectomy on my car I need to replace rubber trim on bumpers. I'm sure this seems elementary to most but I need to get this right. Just rip it off?  Is there a certain type of adhesive I should use?  Any advice is appreciated.

Having never done this before I may be of little use...

However - If you're going to cram it into that deco strip, your first inclination may be to secure the bottom 'lip' and then push it in from the top. I feel like that would be simplest. The only draw back there is that any goof ups are visible from the top.  If you have the patience and a comfy spot on the ground, you could do all the 'work' from the bottom side. Taking this approach would put all the potential 'risk' on the bottom of the strip.

Again, never having done this procedure - My advice may be 100% inaccurate.

Stuff in one end by squeezing the strip part that feeds into the deco from the top then let it relax in the deco.  Proceed from there along the entire strip and cut off the terminal end so it fits in the deco without bunching up or winding up too short.  Follow Wolfgang's advice about letting it warm up though for easier squeezing.

Good luck.
