Rubber Molding

I have a CMC, early 80's. There is a rubber molding, on each side of the dash. It comes down from the windshield posts. The dash vinyl material tucks under or into this molding. My dash vinyl is pulling away from this molding. What is the molding called and where can I buy it?

Is it possible for you to take a picture and post it for us? With that, maybe we can help.

At first I thought you were looking for the moulding that goes horizontally across the middle of the dash and terminates between the vinyl on top and the bare dash on the bottom, but your comment about the end near the windshield post threw me.

is a picture possible?

Never have seen the moulding you mention on a CMC ...wonder if it is an "owner add on ?"

You're not talkng about the rubber that goes down the w'shield for (the rare)CMC Speedsters with roll up windows by any chance?

Actually molding is a bad choice of words. It's the rubber material, striping, at the outer edges of the dash vinyl.

No roll-up windows. On another subject; the car came with no spare tire. What do most of you do for a spare, size,rim, etc. I thought of placing the battery in the back engine compartment, to make room in the front.

A 135 x 15 tire in a 4.5" rim , the battery can be relocated into the engine bay Beck does a nice job of locating a small battery it just forward of the right rear tail light

i have that "rubber/foam strip" if it's the same? a long thin
foamish piece that lays along door jam. i figured it was there
to divert water outside of interior if water ran down through
the top of door?
