That was the first thing I counted....  hmmmmmm.......

And the fact that they didn't sell at the LA "Porsche Literature and Extraneous Garage Cleaning Show" last month (where the Porsche cognoscenti go every year JUST to over-spend their budgets to show off to their peers) should say something about them being seriously over-priced.  Even Jerry Seinfeld didn't buy them (and he'll buy almost anything!)

I have said it before, and I shall repeat myself:

These. ($260 per set if you don't already have them)

Plus these. ($50)

Plus 48 of these. ($10)

And these ($4)

And these ($50)

And a dab of this. ($6, though I've seen it cheaper).

From scratch, now, we're all done under $400—less than $150 if you're already sporting 8-slot Mangels. In half a Saturday you get 99.4% of the look for 3% of the cost, and the only person who might ever say a word about it is the MF who spent the $12,000 on his.

Your "dab of this" link takes you to the knock-offs again.

Ed, great reply, but what I'd wish for is a finished product picture.  Did you do this?  Who has?? What does it look like when all put together??  Or are you just pulling some chain here??  And the ad for the basic wheels does mention that you should/oughta keep these suckers waxed to reduce rust.  Yes ladies and germs, you do get what you pay for.  These wheels (not the rest of your kit) must be what's on my car, and they did look pretty good when new, but if you look closely these days, rust pits are quite evident. On the other hand, how many sets could you buy for $12,000?  Could keep it all looking new for quite a while, although changing the tires might get tedious after a while.

Pieter van Rossum did this on his matte black Envemo coupe a number of years ago.  Really quite convincing.
