With all the previous threads about spare tires, where to put them, what kind, etc., I never saw any mention about the possibility of run-flats being used. Anybody have any experience with those? Are the costs prohibitive? Personally, I'm in the cell phone / AAA-crowd and so far have not ventured on a trip out into the boondocks where even they couldn't reach me. But, if I ever had to out-run the cops to avoid that third-strike speeding ticket, while dropping nails in my path, naturally, I would probably wish I had run-flats.

I have run-a-flat emergency can on my Miata and now on my Speedster as well. I got the kit after taking into account that in the event of having a flat tire I would not have space in my trunk for the flat tire (the cars have smaller sized wheels because normal ones won't fir in the trunk) ... and you bet my wife won't be travelling with a flat tire on top.

Run flat tires are noted by their very stiff sidewalls. That may work on a 4000 pound SUV, but I think they would make your speedster handle like an empty six ton truck - really, really stiff suspension. If that's what you want . . .
Despending on your tire size, your front tire pressure is probably pretty low right now. You'd essentially be in the run flat condition before you ever left the garage.
