Greetings,

I need to replace my yellow incandescent running lights.  One's burned out and I'd like to take this opportunity to switch both out with brighter LED bulbs.  These come in a dizzying array of viewable degrees and brightness levels.

I know that someone here has figured out what beams ahead correctly and what is just the perfect brightness level.  Could you let me know?

Thanks in advance.

Marshall

With as small as these cars are (and new SUV/PU so large), lighting is an important safety feature.  Years ago, daytime running lights were added to all modern cars.  Hella makes a City light head light assembly with more modern replaceable bulbs.  It has become hard to find in US.  In Europe it is used in the lighted cities so oncoming cars and houses aren't blinded with regular head lights.  It would make a great upgrade to old VW incandescent headlights and could be used as a DLR.

Thanks Wolfgang.  You always seem to come through with the best suggestions.

Regarding your safety suggestion, I'm there.  I've already replaced my turn signals with brighter LEDs and my brake lights with CuLayer halogens CuLayer a year or so back.  Also added a strip brake light in my boot grill.  In fact, I think I followed several of your suggestions on those changes, too.  My headlights practically didn't work, so I replaced them with Vintage Car headlights VCm3 - 7 INCH LED HEADLIGHT KIT - Vintage Car LEDs and they are remarkable, if not almost too bright.

I'll look into your suggestion.  These Hellas may be the best modification -- control my headlight brightness some and upgrade the driving light output to a higher more visible level or the incandescents.

Thanks again,

Marshall
