My only issue is that the wheels need to look more like the spare. Those wheels are whiter than the white wall tires,
I like it. I'd love to take it to a PCA meet, and have all the 'experts' expound upon it.
Nicely done.
I like it! I dig the replica rust. Would like to now how he did it. Some of the pictures look like the rust could have some texture- I wonder if it is similar to real rust texture.
imagination truly has no boundaries. kudos to the man w/ the vision.
Wow, I'm impressed!
Way more authentic looking then mine, I love it!
Chris your patina is what one would see from southern states/California where the sun burns the paint. The rusty one shows northeast patina like NY/Connecticut. Just need to replica rust bubbling at bottom of doors and the dog legs.
Here's another fake rusty one (maybe over done)-

@@Alan interesting it’s still posted. Usually request to be taken down
I saw it listed before. Poster said the more info he put in ad the faster it was taken down. Let's hope it stays up until it sells. Now over $20k but reserve not met.

I was a faux finisher/decorative artist before I retired and used different techniques to replicate rust and patina finishes. The quick and easy way was to use Modern Masters metal effects paints and activators:
I'm getting inspired by this.
Thinking about painting some faux spider cracks on my VS.
In 2018, I attended Exotics on Cannery Row during Car Week at Monterey. There were a number of new exotic cars: Mclarens, Lamborghinis, etc all wrapped in racing livery. That I didn't mind. But what I thought was silly was that the wrap included scratches, dirt and scuffs, to make the car appear as though it has had a hard life on the track. When we all know that has has never come close to the track.
It seemed rather disingenuous.
@sherco_chris, I wouldn't say that about your car. The finish you provided on your speedster seems to keep with a weathered appearance one could have on a real speedster or plastic speedster.
The ebay speedster, IMHO, ranks up there with the disingenuous "race cars" I found at the exotic show.
That said, we are lucky to have a big tent here. I mean we all drive replicas. Perhaps there's a level of insincerity there anyway.
