Mickey,
I'll send you some more shots of the silver speedster in a few weeks. Alan will be joining Terry N and myself at the 356 breakfast on June 13. It is nicely done and very cool. When Alan was having the body work done prior to painting he went all out. He had the body guy duplicate the bumper holes ala original cars and several other body differences between a fiberglass car and the steel cars added. The gaps between the doors and body are as sweet as any high end metal restoration.

The last race was May 16 & 17th. The next CSRG (Classic Sports Race Group) will be September 25 & 27th at Infineon, what I call Sears Point. Then October 31 and November 1 will be the last race of the year at Willows.

There is always something Porsche at the Willows events, besides the regulars, we get some interesting cars from Oregon and Nevada. Some cars show up once and then we don't see them again until Pebble Beach.

My favorites are the big speedsters - Can-Am cars, I don't have the upper body strength to handle one anymore, but I still keep in contact - a bit...

Michael, I'm with Mickey on this; whatever you're sending to him, please also send to me at james.drake AT hoa.usafricom.mil -- We're going to be putting body work on the list when I get back home.
I have all the underpinnings, but the body looks like something a high school shop class threw together.
That silver car is gorgeous. The photography is excellent.
Cory, Mickey,

I'm confused (not unusual) about what I would send. I'll send you any thing. I guess you want the photos of Alan's speedster, the only one I didn't post was an interior shot like Dale took.

Hey, speaking of interiors, I haven't paid a lot of attention to the different treatments the dash boards receive. I really like the way Alan's dash looks without any padding. I'm starting to be aware of the many different ways the dash board padding is treated on speedsters.

I'm going to start a thread for dash treatments...

Is that true, Mike? A Navy photographer?
Hmmmm. Even if Bob's pulling my leg, how does an assignment in Africa sound?
Hah, heh. They still don't have my relief identified over here.

As for the images, I'd like to see the details on the underside of the tonneau; the rear valence with the holes in it is really intreaguing to me. I'm also interested in seeing what was done with the rear decklid, the hood and the windscreen. The plexi windscreen we have needs to be replaced after the paint job, whenever that happens. We'll be filling the holes in the car before paint.
I'm not sure what we're going to do for a roof, either, if anything.
We're probably not going to do that paint thing until after we've completely gone over the body.
I'll be seeing Alan soon, and if he cooperates I will get many detail photos for you guys.

Bob wouldn't pull your leg except for the fact that the only Navy Photographer is a Warrant Officer. The rest of us, CPO down to 3rd class, are mates. Photographers Mate.

Don't say it vince! I'll do it - Mate this...

Eight years and enough flights around the gulf of Tonkin to get a blue and gold air medal. Would probably have preferred a t-shirt! "Went to Nam, dodged SAMs and all I got was this t-shirt."

Remember the Turner Joy and Maddox, the aircraft carrier in the gulf at that time was the Bonhomme Richard (Bonnie Dick), I was doing a WetPac when that happened, and we were all excited. Hostilities equal advancement.

My specialty was "Rope Yarn Sunday."

That would be time off for you sand crabs.
