Bob -

I initially posted on the wrong thread (Speedster at Pomona show?...)

Hope your new engine is working out for you! That's gotta be a BLAST to scream through those back roads in the 'Gold Country' with your bigger, stronger, faster engine.

Wish I could make it to the Sacto Bugorama (a bunch of my VW buddies are), can't, so I hope you and Ernie have a good time anyway!

Peace - Out!
I'm thinking six cars this year. Besides Ernie and Bob, I will be there, so will Gene Peterson in his outlaw, and Jim Hansen with his red speedster. I also expect Alan Sherman and Dale Bates, 50 50 on Dale because he has a friend driving at Thunderhill. Seems someone new shows up every so often.

This is going to be a fun weekend, speedsters, VW rat rods, magazine show cars, all the creativity, color and craftsmanship VW nuts do. I was there when the guy broke 200 MPH - neat. Always some good duress sales in the back row.
Patrick Friel and his hot little bug usually shows up for the drags. Terry nuckles has a family commitment with family so he won't be there.

Long lost sight of the Vacaville Guy, and haven't heard from Paul Harford in a while, he must have sold Butch, anyone know? I heard he got $5,000 from some guy in Denmark. That ought to bring him out!

Just received my July issue of Hemmings Sports and Exotic Car magazine and on page 48 is an article about a 1948 VW split window CCG "barn find". The article mentioned that the car was recently sold to a "Volkswagen enthusiast named Erich Kircher" in Petaluma, which is not that far from Sacramento. I am expecting the new owner will have a surprise showing. The spring Bug-O is the best attended of the two shows. Any of you guys want to sneak away Sunday - we're happening!
