Located on the grass at the tip of Shelter Island. S D Harber was twenty feet away with much weekend boating activity as background.

Counted 30 912s and about 50 911s, 944s and even a lone 928.

Driving onto the island and later going home I was passed by a dozen Porschphiles and each one duly raised their hand in a friendly gesture (all five fingers!). Being in a mellow mood, I dutifully answered each and every wave. I wondered is they regularly waved at 1971 VWs? IF THEY ONLY KNOW . . .

I've found that most of them can't tell from greater than 10 feet.

They all wave at our spyder and it's obviously a fake. I think this group was just charmed by your friendly mug!
