San Diego to Redondo, May 16

Hey guys. For my birthday Blake and I will be driving the Speedster from San Diego up to Paso. On Friday the 16th we'll go from San Diego to Redondo Beach, stopping at the VS shop along the way. Anyone want to join us, for the drive, meet up at VS, in Redondo for dinner, or whatever? We'll be leaving from Hotel Del in the afternoon, about 1pm.

Vince, we'll be ending the day in your neighborhood so we expect to see you, Terri and Mr. Ghia.

We have not met yet, and I have heard and read so much about you two, by Vince and many other SOC gang members. I am very close to VS, and if you guys are going to be there for a bit, I can hook up with you guys for a chat or lunch or maybe Vince or Jimbo or David or Adrian or Desi or Bruce or anyone else can drive down also for a speedster gathering at VS.

You may want to call Kirk and let him know what time ... Poor guy is still fighting the same dental prob he was having in Morro Bay and goes back in for yet more work tomorrow (Thurs).
Give a call Friday morning to make sure he's alive and kicking. He normally shuts down right about that time of 3:30 on Fridays..
You can always try to catch him enroute home in Sunset Beach (pretty much on your way) not knowing which route you are taking to Mr.Ghias.

Blake and Jen....We have not had the pleasure of meeting the both of you, but we too owned a Speedster not that long ago, anyhow we have rented a place in Coronado for this entire month, and we were hoping to see you there somewhere in town. We have breakfast at the Beach-N-Diner around 9 A.M. which is right on Orange Ave, between 10th St and Isabella Ave,our favorite for breakfast. Don't know your agenda but will look for you... if we don't run into you have a fun time in Coronado.!!! ~Esther

Well, we're in Coronado and will be heading up to Vintage tommorrow p.m. We should be there around 2pm. We need to have Kirk check out our real axle seal... it's still leaking.
I hope he's there, I spoke to him about on Tuesday morning and he told me to bring it by... so we'll see.

Our plan is to go to the shop, have Kirk look at the car (assuming he's around)then head up towards Hermosa. We're staying at the Sea Sprite tommorrow and having dinner at Barnacles.

Would love to hook with you guys.

Teri and I are very fimiliar with the sea sprite and would love to join you for dinner....if you walk from the sea sprite heading north, just north of the Hermosa pier there is a bar called the Mermaid...I will be there from 4:15 till about 6:00 and then I will be heading to "Rubies" for a weekly car show they have, so your timing is perfect....I will be on my Harley...so look for "5ATAN",

We will try to come to Ruby's with the speedster. We are driving the speedster up to Malibu for lunch at Duke's but will be home in plenty of time to make it to Rubys. See you tomorrow.

They start arriving around 4:30 and they stay till around 7:00
then some of them cruise down to "Ricky and Ronnies" which is located at Normandie and Sepulveda, about 15 minutes driving time.....
There is usually tons of cool cars there also, especially on a friday night in this heat....it's 50's diner also....

Vince...guess what?? I saw old Mr. 356 today, parked at the Hotel Del, I was power walking, I left Blake and Jen a note...I wished we could have gotten together with them , but I didn't know until last minute that they were going to be here...we had a very busy week.

J&B (also the name of a scotch I drink on occasion)came to the Mermaid last evening, we tipped a few and cruised on down to Rubies diner where we met up with the Honnell's. There were plenty of cars to look at, All in All we had a nice evening.....

It was nice to meet up with some of our crew, I think Blake and Jen like our "neck of the woods", Vince was looking pretty "smokin" on the Harley. Lets go cruising soon!

Hi Ya Vince & Teri... whoever else listening in!
We're good for afternoons Saturdays (work til noonish), we hang at Pelican Isle (next door or stumbling distance as Kirk refers to it) Karakee(hows that spelled)? starts at 3:00... very lively, alot of parking and best of all outdoors on the Huntington Harbor Marina..We don't sing mind you more like either enjoy it or laugh at it..! Frankly we don't notice it much anymore we have been there too long. Drinks are good and food is a tad better than ok (or at least the bloody marys and burgers fix things for us come Sunday mornings). We are not real good late night people.. (its the 4:00a.m. waking up bz and staying in bz that kills that idea) Theron likes it there and he & Christina should be coming in June/July (flights opening up from San Jose to Long Beach) a perfect time for a gathering.We'll let you know when they are coming in and its a pretty easy hit from north / south folks that may want to meet up. Jim is quite close to here as well I think.

Hey, Vince, it is up to YOU to get the SoCal group moving on the Friday of the gathering so you get up to Morro early enough to take the Blake/Jen winery tour. They tell me it will be exceptional!! You missed it last year and we are still talking about it. (Also, we are still talking about YOU !!!)

Last year we spent 2 glorious hours in Santa Barbara having lunch. We will be sure NOT to do that again.....The plan this year is to by-pass S.B. and just a few quick stops along the way...I'm thinking that this year we take the 154 out of Santa Barbara, it takes a few miles off the trip and it's scenic and drops us right back on the 101.........
