This morning I was up and out of the house at 6am to get in line for the annual downtown car show in Saratoga, Ca. A quaint little town in the foothills of Silicon Valley. I had a great time last year when I attended, so I did a repeat this year. Weather was perfect in the mid 70's and the crowds really showed up. The limit is set at 250 cars and there were all makes and models. I met a really cool guy with a 190 Mercedes roadster from Carmel Valley. He has owned the car for 53 years and it's a beauty. All in all I had a great day and saw some nice cars. The speedster was all shiny and looked great with its new luggage rack and straps. I just got it back from the shop after having a mid-mount built and an alignment performed. My camber is now adjusted to 3° in the rear. I was at 6 which recked my tires in no time. The car still handles great and it happy at 75+ mph. Hope you all had a fun weekend.

Ha ! I agree Lane. They must be really special when in motion. The oddity made me take the picture.
That’s a prime parking spot between that 190 and double cab!
The -3 degree of caster in the rear, while still not ideal, should extend your tire life significantly.
Some very fine automobile art on display. except maybe those tires/wheels. It's in the eye of the beholder, I guess.
Love the little bug eye Sprite.
Thanks for posting!
Fantastic cars!
And gosh, weather in the 70s.....

Two of the cute little boogers - a black one and a green one.
The third photo down.......the white one.......Is that a Nash ?............I like the Packard too...........Bruce.
Nash-Healey Coupe, early 50s.
Dave, thanks for sharing those cool pics. Looks like it was a great way to spend the day.

It was a fun day Jim. It's a great local show with lots of unusual cars.
Wow. I should plan to attend next year. Some great cars. I love the variety. Always a fan of the Nash Healey. And that Packard! I have a piece by a Palm Springs artist of that same car but in triple green on the bottom. My dad owned a triple green one in the 60s. It was stolen from him while he was away in Vietnam. That’s the one car he always wanted back. I have never seen one in person. Given the prominence it had with him, it’s definitely a car I’d like to have one day.

Stuff like this makes me so mad. The man was serving his nation and some creep stole his car?!?
I know it's more than 50 years on now, but still...
Love the bugeyes. My first sports car back in the early 1960s in high school.
Hate the Boxster. Who does that to such a nice car?

Someone with more money than taste?
I was stationed in England in 1959, export model bug
-eyed Sprites could be bought from the BX for a whopping $9900. Being an E-3 Airman that was more than a year's pay for me. Later I bought a 1950 split-window Beetle for $300 that I could take a year to pay it off.
Love that TD! Thanks for posting those ButcherBoy

Yes Rick, I somehow lucked out with the parking between these two beauties. There is no assigned parking, you get what you get. We had a crowd all day around us.
I'm sure you ment Camber. I found that I have enough room on my adjustable spring plates to lower the car to create more camber as needed. Or raise the car to get back to my 1.5 for each side for highway driving. Just jack up the car and turn the adjuster. Lower the cars, drive it a short ways and check it with my protractor till it's where you want to be.
Wow, talk about typos, I re-read my remark about buying a Sprite for $9900 in 1959. The price was actually $990.00 but still more than my yearly pay ($900 before taxes)
Yeah, pretty sure we all figured that, Nolan. We all experience the "fat finger folly" once in a while.
I don't have "fat Finger" but I frequently forget to remove my baseball glove when typing ! Sometimes I just plain forget to put in letters with the other ! Mostly I use my two social fingers and forget or get confused and poke myself in the eye as well !
