My Turbo has been back in the stable for a little over a month now, and I am prepping for departure on my next tour that will keep me out of the pilot's seat for 60 days. In the meantime, the 3-FIDDY-6 has been cleaned and covered in the garage. I look forward to meeting up with the gang again for Mountain Madness 2011.
The update on the car goes something like this:
Since Steve hooked up all the plumbing, the whoosh comes in and kicks you in the pants with bit of a head-snap. She dyno'ed out at 219hp at the wheels, and when I get back- there are plans to dial up the turbo boost just enough to scare the wife.
The Xenon projectors are heavenly, and combined with the foglights, they really light up the blackness. HIGHLY recommended for aging eyes.
The interior fit and finish turned out better than expected, and with a few minor tweaks, it will be even better. Cruise control tops the list of wants.
I stripped the painted wheels, and have left them as a tutone brushed/polished look for the meantime. I am not sure about paint vs powder coat, or color for that matter- but I think they look a HEAP better than the black/silver combo. Maybe I will leave them brushed, and just clear coat them as is... who knows.
All in all- I am thrilled, and my personal opinion is the car was well worth the wait. Steve builds a pretty unique car, with engineering that rivals some, and surpasses others.
