I believe that Tucker had the same business model.

Ferrari has the same business model.

CMC definitely had the same business model.

I'd be willing to bet that a good 20 or better no-longer-here kit car businesses had the same business model. I know the 50s and 60s certainly had their share!

I believe the early Shelby Cobras had the same model.

What do they all have in common? These business are selling fantasies and dreams to hot-to-trot enthusiasts by people with decent car skills, but bad business skills (excluding Ferrari). It's sorta like renegotiating the price after the foreplay is all done and you just GOT TO GET IT ON.
On a whim I checked this part of the forum back to 2007 and no single thread has been anywhere close to this one in the number of entries, now at 200. I don't know what that says about the community but that it is a group of people who are really concerned about this "boutique" industry and what it means to us. I could weave new carpet for my just delivered Speedie out of this thread if it were made of wool.
