I'm trying to register in CA, my SAS speedster that I bought used. It had previously been registered in Nevada. CA requires the VIN to be located in atleast two places. I found one stamped into the frame in the front of the vehicle, but can't find another one. The one in the door panel doesn't match the frame one.

Any suggestions?

The reason I chose not to address the issue directly on the forum is that the solution can be somewhat complex now that the CA DMV has been involved without some prior consultation with Steve or another SAS owner that has followed this specific car and the CA registration issues for awhile.

Steve indicated to me this morning that he has been involved wth this car again recently and expressed some frustration that he is often the last to be consulted on this issue.

My advice is to work with SAS on the registration issues related to this car.

I dont think so, but not sure. I know that they took serials off of a tons of parts and run it thru a database to see if it was stolen. Once it cleared they gave me the car back. It takes about an hour.

The last car we did this with, we made a door vin tag to match the frame and went to AAA and had them deal with everything. No questions asked.
