It was a beautiful sunny day at Carlisle. I cruised up in the morning with Greg B. Brian V. However Brian and I got soaked coming home - that part sucked. Tons of Speedies and only one Spyder, what's up with that? It was great to meet some falks and put faces to names though I didn't get to meet everyone.

Yeah, I very seriously considered driving over from here. I've taken a couple of 2-2,500 mile trips in the spyder and I've driven it as much as 700 miles in a day. With some time off work the roughly 6,000 mile round trip is not intimidating to me. But I knew this May was really busy for me. Kids, sports, work, 3 rentals, two for sale, PITA renters, you name it. Too much on the plate right now.

If we unload some of this (the rentals, not the kids - Ha!) I would probably be able to do Carlisle next year. If Dusty does make a Colorado East meets West event, that would be the one.

Planning a spyder trip in fall this year. Oregon to Colorado, south to Amarillo, TX, then Route 66 to Arizona for a spyder event (Arachnamia). West to CA, north thru Death Valley, into Nevada and home. Long roads, fast car...goood stufff...You haven't lived until you've blown thru the big lonely Mohave desert in a six cylinder spyder.

Sometimes, you just have to mash the throttle and hold on for dear life. The way I see it, if you can go 100 mph, see for a quarter-mile and get to the hole in the line, the double-yellow doesn't matter.
They don't call them 'outlaws' because they LOOK different, right?

(Chris Nichols took this shot from the chase/linebacker truck. Thanks, Chris! It's going to hang in my den with the other two.)

Of course, when we got close to Carlisle on I-81, we had Steve Perry, Tom DeWalt and John Estes following Pearl on her trailer and were cruising at about 75-ish when we caught up with Nicholas and his IM. About the same time, Bill Drayer was trying to catch us with our 5 minute lead, and while I was on the phone with him, the "Mighty Power Stroke" Diesel somehow crept up to 80-ish (and everyone was still keeping up). I didn't see the difference, but Bill was doing close to 100 and never did catch us all ;>)

Finally came into the Hotel lot about 4 minutes after we all arrived, and said he had been cranking around 5 Grand for the past fifteen minutes!! Blackie looked a little lathered up...

Oh.....and we were getting about 22 mpg at 80 mph; truck, trailer and Pearl. Mighty Power Strokes ROCK!

If Y'all have cruise pictures, PLEASE get them to me. Email if only a few, and burn them to a CD if a lot and I'll consolidate them onto a web site somewhere so we can all enjoy them. Email me for a USPS address to send a CD to.

Thanks, Gordon
Thanks to ALL of you who were a part of it all this year. Jen and I had a blast, and she keeps saying, is this only once a year?

Special thanks to Chris for the fun drive to the All-Star!

Nobody beats us East-Coasters in the fun and relaxation department.

Bill, you're welcome.

Angela, if you had come, it would have made two.

Cory, you really are an outlaw, eh?
I think you both are driving sleepers.

They both have very stout power trains and take off like the hammers of Hell, but if Danny's is any indication, some of those 550's ride like the proverbial Cadillac!

Oh, and I forgot to say that they handle like a Go-Kart, too!

I gave Danny's lovely girl friend, Jen, a ride to the show field in Pearl, and her only comment was, "Gee, you sit a lot higher in a Speedster, don't you?" 8>)
