With the minor accident I had last fall, the windshield top frame needed fixing. Seems that when the windshield departed the car on impact, the two screws that hold the top windshield frame to the post on the drivers side got stripped right out. What to do....get the holes welded in then drill and tapped by a pro ? Sounds risky and expensive. So, I used Alumibond 3000 and filled the holes myself, then drilled and tapped....got the job done in my basement for about $1.00

I used to do similar repairs to wood doors/frames for the hinges. Drill out the hole, glue up a hardwood dowel, pound into the hole (gently but firmly), wait for it to dry, sand the dowels flush, then drill a new pilot hole for the screws.
Glad you were able to fix it.

Alumibond 3000. Good stuff? Where did you pick it up?
Ted
David you sound really resourceful... the frame is not a strong feature in our cars. Ray
David where did you get that stuff in Ottawa?
Just for laughs, I'll bump this thread just once.
Ray, Napa just off Merivale Rd / Bentley area may still have some. If you really need some and they don't have it, dialogue me.
