I started to wonder about that myself once he described his Speedster. Seemed like a lot of original P parts in a replica.

@Richard Eaton, I hope you're not taken by surprise that we're a replica group.  You are certainly welcome here.  Beautiful car and "Welcome to the Madness."

Well, @Richard Eaton, We've had one or two originals show up from time to time, and a number of us replica 356 owners are members of some of the "original" 356 clubs around the USA.  Several of us in New England are members of the TYP356ne group - I used to be a Director on the board there and Peter Venuti (who owns an Intermeccanica replica) is a recent past president.  

We seem to be welcomed into the 356 club ranks while not often being welcomed into the PCA (even though many of us have original Porsches; 9-series, Caymans, Cayennes, Macans and so on).  It's somewhat like how the 9-Series Porsche owners look down upon the 356 cars as being low-class Volkswagens or something.

Regardless of all that, I'm happy to see you here, we all share similar problems with our cars and how to repair or improve them and I'm sure you'll find us to be an informative and interesting bunch, although we seem to have written the book on "thread drift" (and I'm probably the worst at it).

The rest of that sentence is: ....and every known replica Speedster and Roadster. But yes, current members have or have had original Porsches from almost every year they've been made. Replicas make up the majority of what gets talked about but anyone is welcome.
