I have twin SCAT Solex 38 mm, model 35, twin carbs on my SCAT-built 1915 cc engine in my TR Spyder. The engine has very few hours on it. I recently have had idle problems and discovered after removing the air cleaners that one of them is dripping fuel from the accelerator pump tube at idle.
I've found little information available specific to these carbs on the 'Net but it appears that there are two ball check valves in the accelerator pump circuit that prevent fuel from "backing-up" into the fuel system, but nothing that prevents fuel from being drawn into the carb. itself.
I'll take the carb. apart and clean it thoroughly when the weather improves (20s today.) In the meantime, any ideas what may be causing the accelerator tube to drip fuel sporatically and what will fix the problem?
