It's very popular with the Porsche crowd. If you go to www.pelicanparts.com and do a search for Seafoam, you'll find that it's used quite a bit in Porsche engines with carburetors and Fuel Injection. I've used it in all my cars with great success. If you pour it down the carb, it will smoke some but all you have to do is put it in your gas tank.
We have a home made turbo set-up on one of the drag engines and have added Sea Foam to the water injection system with great results. It's kinda of a magic panacea for engines.

As a quick aside, spraying windshield washer fluid (the Winter formula with alcohol added) is a great way of de-coking the valves in a VW engine. The water/alcohol/soap/heat combine to clean the valves, cylinders. piston tops and intake runners wonderfully. It's really weird to remove the heads on the turbo engine, the combustion pockets are pinky piggy clean.
