I don't use generally use sealers at all, I prefer wax especially on dark colors. After painting I like to wait six months then wax the car. This lets the paint fully cure before waxing. If it is a baked on finish instead of air dry its fine to wax much earlier than that.

The best wax I've found so far is Meguir's Gold Class. Goes on like butter and offers great depth and clarity. If you want to opt for a polymer type sealant, Meguir's sells one called Medallion that is outstanding. I use that on other people's cars who are not going to re-wax the car on any type of regular schedule if ever. IT holds up extremely well. I've put it on people's cars and had the paint still bead up like just-waxed after 2-3 years. It does not offer the depth and clarity that the Meguir's Gold Class wax gives but is absolutely zero maintenance. On a light colored car or silver car that clarity difference is a moot point and you may prefer the polymer sealant.
