Ok I finally decided to paint my car and once finished I will want all seals new as well, now my question is, do you guys think is worth it to ask for the Vintage seals, I need the following:

- Rubber (seal) for the front bonnet -> $18,00
- Rubber (seal) for the rear bonnet -> $25,00
- Rubbers (seals) for the doors (left and right) -> $32,00
- Rubber (seal) for the top windshield -> $25,00
- Rubber (seal) for the bottom windshield -> $50,00

or do you think I can probably find them locally. My problem is that the car currently does not have a single seal to take it to a store as a sample. Can any of you take detailed pictures of them so I can see if I can find them locally first, 'cause I think I will problably pay as much shipping as what they are woth...

Thanks in advance everybody

Ignacio:

I have a CMC flared body (white) and used Frost King home door weather stripping on both front and rear covers. 3/4" wide by 1/2" thick. I used white to match the body, but they also offer black or gray. Got mine at Home Depot (BIG DIY chain) here in the 'states. The attached picture shows the engine cover gasket in place (white on white).

If you need Frost King part numbers, I probably have some stuff left in the original baggies and can dig them out. Let me know. I used the same stuff for the doors - 3/4" wide by 5/8" thick, although your thickness may be different.

All of it seems to be working OK, but someone on here mentioned that this stuff is "Open Cell" and can absorb water like a sponge. Just so you know....

Also, somewhere in the CMC manual in the Library section of this site are weather striping cross-sections for all CMC applications. You could find a local, rubber weather strip source in Spain and take copies of the cross sections with you to see if they can match them up.
