Hi All -
I have been driving my car as much as possible this fall. As pleased as I am with how unbelievably great the car is running, the seat position is killing me. My car has the usual one piece slotted back seats from VS. The recline angle is just brutal. My back fatigues after a fairly short time, as I am actually constantly sitting up while I drive (keeping my back off of the seat back).
Have any of you shimmed the rear mounts? I am concerned that if I shim the rear, I will then feel like I am constantly sliding forward.
Thanks!

You may want to consider different seats with the higher back support. For me the seats were "good enough" but I am only 5ft 9 and a buck eighty. The other seat Kirk at VS uses has a higher back and more padding. Jack Crosby a VS owner has the other VS seat and he also changed the seat bottom cushion for max comfort. Others will chime in on other options. Only downfall is you loose that bad to the bone look of your current seats.
Those of us with long-term bad backs know there are some tricks that will soften the impact of seats that don't fit us well. A small lumbar pillow works well, or just take a bath towel, fold in half length-ways, roll tight, and tape. Now you have your own lumbar pillow for the times when you feel lower back tension begin. It really works for me.
After you washer the back forward. If you seat cusson is removeable??? cut a 3/4 peace of pine 1x4 to go under the bottom side of the seat cusson across the front. TO fix the forward slide problem .. add more if you need to tune your seat more. Dont tweek the cover untill you figure out what feels good

If you can do that and make it comfortable then you can unstaple the front seat cover lose under the front to let you put the blocks where you want them . Then re attach the cover over the installed blocks.

Im a ulphoster I made Draus seats out of 83 Honda accord seats NOW that was a Job. But i don't see why you couldnt tweek that kind of seat just as good you may have to recover part of it But if they left you enough material you might be able to sneak it by.
