Seat question for Joe Soltis

Joe,

Did you ever use the Procar-90 seats? And did you have to adapt them? I like the look of your seats in your photo section.
I have the 914 seats and was wondering if it was worth the change.

Never did . I bought the Corbeau Classic buckets. They are comfy for me .. not the wife . Her butt has to squeeze into them. Yes I do drive it alone most of the time. Daughter loves it ... she is skinny

They look very nice. Did you have to do any mods or were they a straight bolt in? And did you get their mounting system.
I have a pan based IM.

My car has a modified chassis.You could weld some steel channel perpendicular to the center structure. Weld in a few blind nuts for mounting and seat belts anchors.

I've put procar 90s in one of our speedies before. I'll have to dig up the photos, but IIRC we narrowed the frame by 2-2.5" and had to cut out the stock seat tracks and drop the seat about the same. Of course, completely recover, and by the time we were done they were PRICEY!

Thanks for your comments. That is what I was trying to find out, if they had to be modded. My 914 seats are pretty nice anyway. I will most likly wait until I get a new ride and order roadster style seats instead.

Carey, with all of the extra width in the cockpit, why do you have to narrow the seats?
