Hi all! I'm a newbie to this site who loves the 550!

I am 6' and 200lbs; I sat in a Beck but was very uncomfortable in that the seat was not wide enough for my rear and there was not enough leg room; ie. my thigh hit the steering wheel and my knee interferred with ther shifter.

Do all 550 replicars have the same fit; i.e. do some cars have a more "generous" seat and do some have more leg length adjustabiity? If not, looks like I may be out of luck!

Thanks,

Tom

Hey Tom,

You must have LONG legs! I'm 6'2" and fit in the Spyder pretty well. I noticed no difference in legroom of both Beck and Vintage cars, however Vintage can/will push the firewall back up to 3" if requested. I'm a skinny guy, so I don't have the seat-width problem, but I think wider seats are available. Good luck!

Thanks for the response; yep, I guess I have longer legs/shorter body or whatever. I was hoping I could buy a used one but this may not be possible if the only alternative is to ask Vintage to customize one for me.

Now I won't be bidding on any I see on eBay (or wherever) since I can't try them out for fit before bidding!

Hi Tom,

www.fibersteel.com sells a wider seat and I've got a 13" wheel which helps greatly with knee room. I'm 6'3" but skinny so I haven't opted for the seats yet. Also in general you can move the shifter closer to the passenger, but remember you'd better be comfortable with who's riding with you!
