Oh, and here's the other end of the spectrum: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271456189875
Shoot....
The seats Cory got for his Hoopty are way better than those "Porsche" Recaros, any day.
Plus, he washes them with a hose....
I will need to recover them, but that's okay. If I can get em cheap enough.

Good luck with the bidding, Ted. Just sharing my experiences having done the exact same thing for my seats this summer. It cost around $800 to get new vinyl and carpet materials to do the job. I got quotes from over 30 shops and the cheapest I was quoted to have them done for me was another $600. I was going to reuse the foam from my original seats, but the life on foam is only 10 years (by far the best money I spent because the foam was very worn out and uncomfortable) and so I had the foams replicated for another $300. All in all, it really added up on me ($1,700) and I wound up being into those seats way more than I ever planned on. Worth it when it's done, but I wish I knew what to expect because I thought it would take minimal expense to get them back into shape.

I would have been cheaper to get seats from VS or JPS rather than have all that stuff custom made.
is it my imagination or are those seats really long in the seat?
they look like they are sticking their tongue out.
Michael, that's my point about the slippery slope of restoring seats that I fell into. I thought that I was ahead of the game by getting a well priced pair to restore but it wound up being way more in the end. Sometimes it's just best to bite the bullet and spend extra on something complete rather than bleed out trying to restore a basket case.
Ted,
A while ago we shared some dialog about Speedster bucket seats with the slotted backs. I said they were about $375 each from VS. It is a chunk of dough but not the worst money you can spend as you see what kind of money can be spent to redo a set. The tan seats in this thread are pretty rough as it is. Throw in new padding and new seats, in the correct color from the get-go, begins to look better and better. That was my thought process before I bit the bullet and bought mine last year. All you have to do is send a snippet of your material, they match it as closely as possible, send you a snippet back for your approval and your on your way...
