Hi again everybody.

I am finishing the restoration of my car now and I decided to place some wood posts between the floor of the car and the seat tracks. I am 1m72cm (I believe I converted it right to 5'6") and I couldn't drive comfortly before. Now with the posts (which are 7cm tall on the front and 10cm at the rear to make the seat lay flat on the car's floor) my head is someway above the windshield, so I think I'll redo the wood posts to 3cm front and 7 at the rear.

My question is, do you guys have anything like this between the floor and the seats or am I the smallest driver in here? If so, how tall and what shape, material and stuff...

Thanks in advance,

Ignacio

I am finally back in good old Florida. Had enough fun in the sandbox to last me for at least a year.
Now the fun starts of working on the finishing touches of my speedster. Can't wait to get it done and on the road. Playing with the interior now. Not sure if I like the original style seats or not. They don't seem to be too rigid. Plus they are a real pain to assemble. I'm sure there must be a secret to assembling them, just haven't found it yet.
Since staples will not go into the fiberglass, how do you secure the material? The only thing that I can come up with is to use wood strips on the outer edges to put staples into. Any and all pointers would be appreciated.

I just assembled a set of Seats like the ones you have. I found that the only way I could get them together was to do exactly what you suggested.
Use tack strips, or wood strips aprox 11.00 in. apart inside the seat bottom and back. Then add strips around the outside edges to staple the upholstery to when you stretch it over the padding
I stapled and glued the carpeting that goes on the backs after I trimmed and bound them to fit. They cover the edges where the staples hold the upholstery material.
