These cars are showing up everywhere. Here, in the middle of Seinfeld's latest 'Comedians in Cars' with Tina Fey. It's around 11:40. Anyone recognize the car?

I can appreciate classic designs but Jerry's Volvo just doesn't have the lines. Sorry, does nothing for me.
"Fake Porsche Spyder" yeah, we know, Jerry! So? None of us have your money, Jerry. Drive your 550 on the street, I dare you!
"...but Jerry's Volvo just doesn't have the lines..."
I think I like some of Tina Fey's lines better.
If memory serves, the car magazines couldn't find much to praise about the P1800 at the time. I guess it was pretty sporting .... for a Volvo.
I think Seinfeld picks cars that he thinks match the personalities of his guests and not necessarily for their stellar performance. Most of the non-Porsches aren't in his collection, but are loaned for the show.

Dunno if he has a 550, but I was amazed to see he has a Gmund and that he did drive it on the street in the recent episode with Jay Leno.
I'm glad I'm not his insurance agent.
Sacto:
Somewhere in the credits it said the Gmund belongs to Paramount I think.
Dunno if he has one today, but he did buy a 550 some years ago. Didn't he crash his Fiat 500 when the brakes failed a few years ago?
When I was a kid, my pediatrician drove a P1800, and had it a while as I remember it through the mid 70s. Nice looking car, I always thought it was cool.
I liked the Louis C.K. episode better than Fey, but you're right, she is nice to look at.
Just checked again and the car is from "Columbus 81 Productions", which is the name of his production company.
I stand corrected. I'll be over here in the corner....
Actually, I sort of liked the way the Volvo looked, too.
But for about the same bucks, you could have an Alfa 1750 Spyder, with dual cams, a five speed, ... and iniezione.
Oooooooohhh......
Did you know?
On May 23, 2012, Fiat announced it was forging an agreement to develop a new Spider for 2015 with Mazda based on the Mazda MX-5 platform.[4] The agreement was finalized on 18 January 2013.
